“Abortion, a Consequence of Spiritual Stupidity”
Job 39:13-17
I. The ostrich, God’s example of stupidity in the natural world
1. The ostrich described – Job 37:13-17
1. The ostrich is stupid because it does not care for its unborn children -
A. This is contradicted by some
B. This is proved by careful science
3. God has gifted other animals and birds with wisdom (instincts) for protecting their young
A. Kindly Storks (Hebrew Stork means kindly mother)
B. Penguins, eggs balanced on feet in extreme cold
C. Hummingbirds, unique nests, balanced by pebbles
D. Other birds / animals protect their eggs / young
4. God’s depriving the ostrich of wisdom can be applied to us -
Argument: If the ostrich can be called deprived by God of wisdom because it does not protect its unborn, how much more can humans (created in God’s image) be called ‘deprived of wisdom’ spiritually and morally stupid, when they not only neglect but intentionally aim to destroy their unborn?
II. Romans 1, the Biblical argument for human spiritual stupidity being part of the judgment of God – Romans 1:28-29
1. Because they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, they neglected theology, Bible study, obviously, there is:
A. No God to be accountable to – Psalm 14:1
B. No Image of God to protect – Genesis 1:26-27
2. Taking away the knowledge of God leads to all sorts of sin – Genesis 1:28-32
3. We see these things in our modern American Society
III. Abortion comes about or is allowed because of spiritual stupidity, devilish lies and / or deceptions – John 10:10; Ephesians 6:10-12
1. Recent – New York Times defending a murderer / false story about abortion
2. Roe v. Wade
3. Doe v. Bolton
4. “It’s not a baby”
5. “Pro-choice, that’s a lie, babies don’t choose to die” The argument of “choice” is a deception about abortion
6. Around 45 million babies have been killed in America alone, why not covered by news?
7. Women killed by abortion, before and after Roe v. Wade, stats lied about and no longer taken

IV. Christians and abortion –
1. Christians should be pro-life – John 10:10; John 14:6; John 17:3
A. We believe in the sanctity of human life – Genesis 1:26-27
B. Christians are supposed to promoters of welfare and good in society in general
2. Christians should be informed and informers of others about abortion –
3. Christians (and churches) should be actively involved in some way or other in the fight against abortion:
A. Voting pro-life
B. Supporting a crisis pregnancy center
C. Becoming involved
