The Morning Sermon Outline
“Do Not Miss the Dawning of a New Day!”
John 3:22-36

I. John the Baptist knew who he was in relation to Jesus Christ (He knew Jesus Christ)

1. He knew he was not the Christ - :28
2. He knew he was not the Bridegroom - :29
3. He knew Christ must INCREASE, he must decrease - :30
4. He knew Christ was from ABOVE, he was earthly - :31
5. He knew Christ spoke the BEAUTIFUL TRUTH of God - :32-34

II. John the Baptist knew they who were concerned about his personal success were missing the main point

1. They saw Jesus’ success as stealing from John’s success
2. In doing this they show themselves BLIND:
A. To John’s entire purpose
B. To the Beauty of God’s glory
C. To the NEED of their own souls

III. John the Baptist presses upon them (and us) the vital importance of being RIGHT with Christ! - :36

1. More important than John’s or anyone’s personal success
2. Knowing and trusting Christ means EVERLASTING LIFE
3. Not believing in Jesus results in three things:
A. The lack of LIFE
B. The WRATH of God
C. The WRATH of God ABIDES on him!
4. Application: Get right with Christ!
