How Should We Respond to God's Amazing Grace?

“How Should We Respond to God’s Amazing Grace?”
Romans 6:1-14
November 2, 2003

I. With continued, and maybe even greater sin?
1. This is a logical answer
2. This answer is agreeable to our flesh
3. This is an answer we often slip into
4. This is NOT the right answer

II. By walking in newness of life
Why should walking in newness of life be our response to God’s grace?
1. Because we are dead to sin
2. Because we have been baptized (identified) with Christ, even with His death and resurrection
3. Because, “In Christ,” we have a life worthy of embracing, enjoying!
4. Because we are “commanded,” “exhorted,” “told,” to walk in this way!
See the next point -

III. By walking according to these exhortations
1. Reckon yourself dead to sin, but alive to God
2. Do not let sin reign, do not obey its lusts
3. Do not present your members as instruments of sin
4. Do present your members as instruments of righteousness
5. Walk as those who are freed from sin’s dominion
