“Where Do We Go When We Die?”
Luke 16:19-31

Here two places are mentioned: Abraham’s bosom and Hades:

I. In these places there is consciousness - :24
II. In these places there is communication - :24-26
III. In the heavenly place there is comfort, while Hades is a place of torment - :22 / :23
IV. In these places body parts are mentioned: eyes -:23; finger and tongue - :24
V. Concern is mentioned for those on earth - :27-28

Similarly the martyrs under the 5th seal of Revelation 6:9-11 have:

I. A consciousness of their condition / situation as un-avenged - :10
II. They have voices - :10
III. They are given robes - :11
IV. They seem to be conscious of time - :11

Neither of these places are the New Heaven or New Earth of Revelation 21:1-4
1. Believers are with Jesus in Paradise when they die – Luke 23:42-43
2. Yet, at least some of them seem conscious of earth or Hades – Luke 16:27-29
3. Yet, there is still seeming impatience, not total contentment on the part of those who died as martyrs – Revelation 6:9-11
4. Rev. 6:9-11 shows a desire for justice
