Acts 4:25 "Rage"

“Phruasso”
Acts 4:25

In Acts 4:25, the Greek word for rage is “Phruasso,” it describes the snorting sound of prancing war-horses. Here it describes the ungodly rage of those men who nailed Jesus to the cross.

First, say it, and say it fast, note it sounds just like that sound that horses make when they are full of pride and feistiness.

Second, note that it is the sound of an animal and it hints at the idea that sinful men have lost the minds of men and have become animals.

Third, it is the sound of an animal that is RIDEN into the heat of battle. Was not this the case of most of those who yelled again and again “crucify Him, crucify Him” that they did such a thing mindlessly, more stirred up or ridden into battle by a few devils than thinking for themselves?

Fourth, is not this the same for many mindless people today? They hate Christ but they have never or rarely read the Bible, they protest against Christ, rage against His law, want Him eliminated from all of life and yet doing this they show themselves like mindless driven animals.
